Coogan leads mayoral candidates in cash and spending through July 19
The Fall River election season is in full swing and Paul Coogan leads the field in both cash and spending.
As of July 19, the Coogan Campaign had $26,577.69, the Jasiel Correia II campaign had $20,984.01 and the Scott-Pacheco campaign had $846.57.
Paul Coogan also led in spending from May 1st through July 19. The Coogan campaign spent $8,503.41, the Jasiel Correia II campaign spent $5,177.15 and the Scott-Pacheco campaign spent $4,475.08. All data was pulled from the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance database.
This year’s election features a rematch of three of the five candidates from the special recall election on March 12, 2019. Correia was recalled with 7,829 votes cast in favor of and 4,911 votes cast in opposition to the recall, but he received the most votes in the second portion of the recall:
Jasiell Correia: 4,808
Paul Coogan: 4,567
Joe Camara: 1,971
Kyle Riley: 1,460
Erica Scott-Pacheo: 740
According to the Fall River elections office, the preliminary election will be held on September 17, 2019.
