Connecticut man calls 911 stating he is going to kill his wife, himself; police located couple deceased
A husband and wife appear to have died in an apparent murder-suicide in Connecticut, authorities say.
According to police, on Monday, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a male identifying himself as 63-year-old John Ezzell called 911 and reported that his wife was suffering from terminal cancer and that he intended to take her life and then his own. He informed dispatch that he would shoot his wife and then himself and stated that the doors to the residence would be left open for responding officers.
Officers from the Plainfield Police Department responded to Kate Downing Road and located two individuals inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. John Ezzell and his wife, 63-year-old Christine Ezzell, both residents of Kate Downing Road, Plainfield, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A firearm was recovered within the residence.
Both John and Christine Ezzell were subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy and further examination.
