Community supporting Fairhaven woman serving overseas after Fall River parents found deceased
Friends and family are rallying around a servicewoman after her Fall River parents were found dead.
According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III, Fairhaven Police and EMS were dispatched Wednesday to Jameson Street in Fairhaven after 7:00 p.m. for a welfare check at that residence. Upon arrival police located 60-year-old Rafael Pedraza and 51-year-old Brenda Rosario deceased inside of the residence. An initial investigation revealed there were no signs of forced entry.
A GoFundMe fundraiser created by a friend of the deceased’s daughter states that “while their daughter was deployed overseas serving in the U.S. Army, her parents were lovingly house-sitting for her when they both passed away unexpectedly. She received this devastating news while still overseas and is now returning home to face the unimaginable—laying both of her parents to rest.”
The investigation into the deaths is being coordinated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Fairhaven Police Department. Both decedents were transported to the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy and official cause of death.
