BOURNE, MA — State Representative Steven G. Xiarhos (R–Barnstable), in partnership with Representative John Gaskey (R-Wareham), the Marine Corps League, the Patriot Guard Riders, Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen, State Senator Kelly A. Dooner, and several local veterans’ organizations, is calling on the public to attend the funeral service of Francis M. “Frank” Dobrynski, a proud United States Army and Air Force veteran who passed away earlier this year without known family or close friends to attend his burial.

Frank will be laid to rest with full military honors on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM sharp at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne — the hallowed grounds where thousands of American heroes rest.

A resident of Carver, Massachusetts, Frank Dobrynski served honorably during the Korean Conflict in both branches of the U.S. military. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for his dedicated service. After his military duties, Frank worked in Las Vegas as a Keno Writer, where he was known for his warm manner and love of meeting people.

“It is our sacred duty to ensure that no veteran is ever forgotten or buried alone,” said Representative Steven Xiarhos, a Gold Star father and U.S. Marine parent. “Frank served this country with honor, and we will stand together as a community to make sure his service and sacrifice are properly remembered.”

State Senator Kelly A. Dooner added, “Our veterans deserve our utmost respect — and when one has no family or friends to stand by them in their final moments, the community must step forward. I am honored to join Representative Xiarhos and our local veterans groups to ensure Frank receives the tribute he has earned.”

Representative John Gaskey remarked, “When a veteran passes without family, it falls on us — the community he defended — to stand for him. I am proud to join Representative Xiarhos, Senator Dooner, and our veteran partners in giving Frank the recognition and remembrance he deserves.”

All members of the public — veterans, civic groups, riders, families, and neighbors — are encouraged to attend and pay their respects.

Please arrive early at the cemetery and check in at the administration building for directions to the correct committal shelter.
