4 children in Massachusetts have lost both their parents in 7 months leaving the community to help with support.

In March, 52-year-old Chelsea Police Department Detective Scott Conley of Topsfield died in what was described as a sudden and tragic death. A cause was not released.

Conley was known for his work on gang violence including aiding the dismantling of MS-13. He testified in 2017 before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on efforts to combat MS-13.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, on the day Scott died, his wife, 52-year-old Elaine Conley, was in the hospital preparing for a critical bone marrow transplant due to her leukemia diagnosis. Despite her illness, she filled the void that Scott left. On Saturday, Elaine lost her battle.

The Conley’s leave behind four children, Aidan, Max, Keira, and Shea.

The community has raised just over $66,000 as of this writing for the Conley family to help the children navigate their future.

Services for Elaine Conley have not yet been announced.
