A southeastern Massachusetts man is being remembered after dying from injuries sustained while on the job.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Everett Chief of Police Paul Strong have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal construction incident that occurred Friday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a large crane collapsed at a construction site in the area of Rover Street in Everett. Two workers are confirmed dead.

One of the deceased was 37-year-old Paul Ledwell of Middleborough.

In a GoFundMe fundraiser, Ledwell was described as “a devoted father, loving son, caring brother, and loyal friend. Above all, he was the proud dad of two incredible boys — Paul and Vincent — who were truly his everything.”

“Paul’s life was cut short while doing what he always did best — working hard to provide for his family. In his memory, we are coming together as a community to help ensure that his boys have the bright futures he dreamed of for them.

“Paul will be remembered for his kind heart, tireless work ethic, and unwavering generosity. He was always there for others — and now it’s our turn to be there for his boys, honoring his legacy of compassion and strength.”

Visiting hours will take place at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Sunday, November 2nd from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church 272 Main St Kingston, on Monday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Center Cemetery, Pembroke

This is an open and active investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police, the Everett Police Department and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
