Co-owner of Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut cosmetology company murdered, partner arrested in her homicide
A business owner with a bright future was found shot to death leaving questions as to what led to her shocking demise.
According to a statement by Sojourner House, on Thursday night, 29-year-old Morgan Lynn Boss, a budding entrepreneur, was murdered by her intimate partner in Providence.
“Morgan was the co-owner of Behind the Scenes Girls, a cosmetology company specializing in hair, make up, and nails whose beauticians travel between RI, MA, CT, and NY.
“As a cosmetologist, Morgan spent her days making women across New England feel special and cared for. We came across one review on her company’s Facebook page that seemed to perfectly sum up her impact and legacy. It said, “Thank you for your service! You make the world beautiful.”
“We’re devastated that Morgan is no longer here to add beauty and warmth to our neighborhood– that her life was taken by a senseless act of violence. Our thoughts are with those who loved her and held her close. Today, we grieve alongside them.
“Morgan’s death marks the fourth domestic violence homicide our community has seen in just three months. At Sojourner House, we refuse to see such violence as normal; to become desensitized to these tragedies. No one should be made to feel unsafe in their home or in their relationship.
“Please know that if you need it, there is help available. The number for our 24/7 helpline is 401-765-3232 and our Drop-In Center is located at 1570 Westminster Street in Providence.”
26-year-old Kelvin Mendez Cruz of Providence was held without bail Friday at his arraignment.
Boss was reportedly found shot in the head. No other details, including a possible motive, were released.
She was described by those who knew her as a sweet and beautiful soul who didn’t have a malicious bone in her body.
