The co-owner of a special spot in Fall River that brought nostalgia to many while satisfying their sweet tooth has died.

77-year-old Florence (Michaels) Ameen passed away peacefully on Thursday at Massachusetts General Hospital.

According to an obituary, Florence used to help out her late husband Robert “at their business Snack Food Heaven in Fall River, while also being a devoted housewife and mother helping raise her family. “

At the family’s request, all funeral services are private.

Snack Food Heaven was a beloved, old-school candy and snack store at 45 10th Street.

The Ameens ran the business until Robert retired. He passed away in November 2022.

It specialized in bulk candy, confectionery, potato chips, and a huge variety of snacks. Locals remember it as a go-to spot for affordable, nostalgic treats — especially big bags of chips and classic candies.

It had that classic neighborhood wholesale/retail feel where you could buy snacks in larger quantities at good prices. Many Fall River residents from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s have fond memories of stopping in there, especially around Halloween or for bulk treats.
