Co-founder of Fall River’s Sam’s Bakery passes away

The co-founder of a Fall River institution for over 60 years has passed away.
According to an obituary, 97-year-old Georgette Yamin passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday.
Georgette and her late husband Saleem “Sam” Yamin left Lebanon to begin a new life in the United States. “They made a way for so many more family members to follow in the years to come. Georgette initially went to work at the Fall River Knitting Mill before she and Sam co-founded Sam’s Bakery in Fall River in 1961.”

She loved spending time with her family, cooking and hosting, days spent at the beach, going for rides, traveling and telling stories, especially about her homeland. Georgette will be remembered as a pillar of faith, courage, strength and wisdom.”
