City resident stabbed to death Sunday in Fall River, suspect in custody
Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to this office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the City of Fall River on Sunday.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at around 5:02 pm, Fall River Police responded to 220 Johnson Street, Apartment 59F, for a reported medical emergency. When police and rescue personnel arrived on scene, they located a 68-year-old female, later identified as Ana Vazquez, on the second level of the residence. The victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds and was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, where she was later pronounced deceased.
A 15-year-old female who had recently been living in the residence with the victim and her grandson was taken into custody last night and was formally charged with murder early this morning. The juvenile defendant will be arraigned in a closed session of the Fall River District Court at some point today.
