City of Pawtucket to auction memorabilia from McCoy Stadium
Pawtucket, RI, – The City of Pawtucket is excited to announce an auction of items from McCoy Stadium, which will go live on Monday, July 15 at 8 AM and run through July 26 at 5 PM.
This auction, which will be hosted on the “BetterWorld” online platform, provides fans and community members a unique opportunity to own a piece of Pawtucket history while supporting local charities.
The auction link will be accessible as a news item on the City of Pawtucket’s homepage at https://pawtucketri.gov starting Monday morning.
Mayor Donald R. Grebien expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “We are thrilled to see the community’s overwhelming interest in the McCoy Stadium auction. This initiative allows us to deliver cherished memorabilia to our loyal fans while supporting organizations that have been pillars of our community. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
The profits will benefit the Boys and Girls Club, Pawtucket YMCA, Little Sisters of the Poor, Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, and the creation of Ben Mondor Park.
Items available for auction include stadium seats, signs, photos, and various memorabilia. Please note that many items have sustained damage or graffiti, and the Worcester Red Sox (WooSox) took most of the equipment when they relocated.
Stadium seats are among the most popular items requested. These seats are installed as rows, not individual units. Bidders will be able to purchase a row of 15-20 seats. Individual seats will not be available for purchase.
Season ticketholders with NAMEPLATES ONLY will have first claims on their specific seats. If they wish to acquire just their seat, it will be limited to the seat back or the entire row. The cost for each seat back is set at $100. A row will begin at $200.
