City of Fall River no longer needs to look for new Director of Finance

Dartmouth, MA – The City of Fall River will not be looking for a new Director of Finance after all.

The Town of Dartmouth Select Board announced in December that they had selected Bridget Almon of Warwick, RI, and current Director of Finance for Fall River, as the new Dartmouth Town Administrator.

According to Dartmouth Week, the Board has rescinded its offer, however, after Almon rejected the town’s contract due to the “contract language.” 

The Town Administrator candidates in addition to Almon were:

• Shawn E. Cadime of Fall River, MA, currently Town Administrator for Seekonk, MA
• Gary J. Carreiro of Westport, MA, currently Director of Budget and Finance/Treasurer and
  Co-Interim Town Administrator for Dartmouth, MA
• A. D. Christian Vitale of Barrington, RI, currently Assistant Town Administrator and Co-Interim Town Administrator for Dartmouth, MA
  

In 2023, the Dartmouth Town Administrator made just over $190,000.

On Monday, the Board appointed Gary Carreiro as the sole Town Administrator.
