City of Fall River makes several moves due to COVID-19 coronavirus
(Fall River, MA- March 12, 2020)- Risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Massachusetts is rising. The City of Fall River wants to ensure that residents and employees limit exposure and practice social distancing. The City of Fall River would like to encourage all residents to pay bills online, by mail, or by utilizing one of our two drop box locations at One Government Center. A drop box can be found inside the building on the first floor, the other is on the exterior of the building on Third Street. Payments that can be made online at https://www.fallriverma.org/ include real estate taxes, personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, boat tax, utility bills, parking tickets, and municipal lien certificates.
To mail your payments for real estate taxes, personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, boat tax, and utility bills, please send them to the following address:
City of Fall River
PO BOX 4141
WOBURN, MA 01888-4141
Utilizing these alternative payment methods will reduce the risk of person-to-person spread of respiratory illness including COVID-19, or the flu. Mayor Paul E. Coogan continues to encourage residents to take the steps necessary to reduce exposure. This includes:
Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water is not available
use a hand sanitizer with 60% based alcohol.
Stay home when you are sick, and avoiding contact with those who are sick
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue
The City of Fall River has also cancelled the Open House Design Charrette at Fall River Government Center that was scheduled for tonight, Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:30 pm.
Due to the concern of COVID-19 and large gatherings, the City has also decided not to kick-off the 2020 City of Fall River Earth Day Clean-Up at Government Center. Instead, meetings will take place at Kennedy Park, North Park, and Cash Street parking lot.
The event will take place Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 8:00am-12:00pm with a rain date of April 25, 2020.
