City of Fall River issues holiday trash amnesty week, update on holiday trash pickup
(FALL RIVER, MA- December 22nd, 2021)- Mayor Paul E. Coogan’s office, in conjunction with the Department of Community Maintenance, would like to announce this year’s annual
Christmas amnesty trash collection week.
Due to the upcoming holiday, the City recognizes that residents may generate excess trash needed to be put curbside for collection. For this reason, residents may place excess bags outside of the carts during the week following Christmas (December 27th through 31st).
Residents with excess trash who are able are also encouraged to take advantage of the department’s overflow dumpster at its DPW Complex, located at 10 Lewiston St. Drop off of
overflow trash is free and provided year-round, however residents are required to provide proof of city residence in order to take advantage of this service. As a reminder, the amnesty week does not apply to bulky items, such as furniture.
Fall River residents should also be aware that there will be no change to the routine trash pick-up schedule over the holidays. EZ-Disposal will be working on December 24th and 31st, meaning residents should expect their trash collection on the same day as usual.
