City of Fall River issues blizzard update including extending driving ban, FRPD taking only emergency calls

(FALL RIVER, MA- February 23, 2026)- Due to the blizzard conditions and the snowfall
amounts predicted for our area that is having a tremendous impact on the city from late
last evening through this evening Monday, February 23, 2026, Mayor Paul Coogan
would like to provide residents with these important updates.

● Parking Ban will remain in effect until further notice
● The driving ban in the City of Fall River has been extended until further
notice. Please stay off of the roads if you are not essential personnel.
● All nonessential businesses are asked to close or remain closed
● Fall River Government Center will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February
24, 2026
● Check on your family, neighbors and friends that may live alone
● The Fall River Police Department is currently only taking emergency calls.
