City of Fall River announces Pride Month flag raising, city clean up, kite night, community garden kickoff in separate events

The City of Fall River has announced several upcoming events taking place this month.

On Tuesday, June 3rd at 3:30 p.m., the City of Fall River will collaborate with the Fall River Pride Committee to commemorate the start of Pride Month with a flag raising at the plaza between Government Center and the Post Office.

Mayor Paul Coogan will offer a few remarks and there will also be speakers from Fall River’s LGBTQ+ community. The public are welcome to attend the flag raising ceremony.

On June 14th, the City of Fall River is hosting a Pop-Up Clean Up. Gather your team and meet at the corner of Pleasant Street and Flint Street to help keep our communities clean from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration for an accurate number of volunteers is requested. In collaboration with the Department of Community Maintenance, necessary equipment for the clean-up will be provided.

The City of Fall River in collaboration with Viva Fall River and the Redevelopment Authority have announced that Kite Night will be returning this summer.

Fall River Kite Night is scheduled for June 18th from 5:00pm -8:00pm at the Senator Thomas Norton City Pier.

The Fall River Trolley will run shuttle service from the parking lot at 10 North Main Street. The shuttle is free, handicapped accessible, and will run in a constant loop every 15-20 minutes. Parking is also available in the parking lot on Davol Street, between Hathaway and Taylor Street. There is also parking available at Battleship Cove and Veterans Memorial Bicentennial Park. And finally, The Flint Neighborhood’s First Community Garden Kick-Off will take place on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Father Travassos Park.
