City of Fall River announces list of Memorial Day events, including parade, to honor those who made ultimate sacrifice

As Memorial Day approaches, the City of Fall River is proud to host a series of events to honor and remember our fallen heroes.

Memorial Day Week Events: 

Saturday, May 17th – Sunday, May 25th – Flagging of graves, various times and Cemeteries, (24 & 25th St. Patrick’s 9-1 & Notre Dame 9-1) City Flag & Graves Officer Victor Farias 

Wednesday, 21st – at 1:00 p.m. Washing of the Fall River Vietnam Memorial Wall at Bicentennial Park, Rolling Thunder Chapter 2, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #207, Veterans Association of Bristol County, & Fall River War Veterans Council- Rene Brown Commander FRWVC 

Saturday, May 24th – at 7:30 p.m. Gold Star Families Candlelight Vigil, Bicentennial Park – Fall River Gold Star Families & Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 

Saturday May 24th at 6:30pm – Italian American War Veterans and the Sons Daughters of Italy Ceremony, Bicentennial Park 

Sunday, May 25th – 8:00 a.m. Polish American War Veterans Monument Ceremony, Mass and Breakfast, Blessed Trinity Church 8:30 Mass, 9:30 Breakfast – Father Rob Nemkovich 

Sunday, May 25th – at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Day Service and Ceremony, 10:15 a.m. Gather at Corky Row Club for Parade to Griffin Park, light refreshments after the ceremony, Corky Row Memorial Day Committee Kristen Noland Facchiano 

Monday, May 26th at 10:00 a.m. Global War on Terror Monument Ceremony- North Park (Snake Hill). – Gold Star Mother JoAnne Mello, Gold Star Mother Carlene Barrett 

Monday, May 26th – The City of Fall River Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony – Parade Line-up will begin at 12:00 p.m. Kennedy Park. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 pm. with Parade Kick-off at 2:00 p.m. from Kennedy Park to City Hall.
