City of Fall River announces Christmas amnesty trash collection week for 2023
(FALL RIVER, MA- DECEMBER 12, 2023)- The City of Fall River has announced this year’s annual Christmas amnesty trash collection week. Due to the upcoming holiday, the city recognizes that residents may generate excess trash needed to be put out for curbside collection. For this reason, during the week of December 26th, 2023, to December 30th, 2023, the city will have trash amnesty week and allow for excess trash to be placed in or alongside carts for pickup.
Residents are reminded that amnesty week does not apply to bulky items and that wrapping paper is not recyclable and should be placed in or alongside trash carts.
Households with excess trash also have the option to bring it to the overflow dumpster at the DPW Complex on 10 Lewiston Street. Drop off of overflow trash is free and provided year-round, and you must provide a proof of city residence in order to use this service.
The Mayor’s Office and the Department of Community Maintenance wish the residents of Fall River a safe and healthy holiday season.
