Two separate events are coming to Fall River with the environment in mind.

The City of Fall River, in collaboration with the Tree Division, is excited to invite you to our Fall River Trees & Trails: Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 25th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Britland Park.

This free, family-friendly event is an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the importance of trees, green spaces, and environmental stewardship. The event will begin with an official Arbor Day proclamation by Mayor Paul Coogan, followed by engaging tree-planting and equipment demonstrations led by the City’s Tree Division.

The Fall River Street Tree Planting Program will be on site sharing valuable information about the benefits of urban trees. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive a free sapling (while supplies last), with this year’s selections including white flowering dogwood and red maple.

In addition, participants are encouraged to take part in a community clean-up of Britland Park. No registration is required, and tools will be provided.

Families and attendees of all ages can also enjoy:

  • The Fall River Public Library Bookmobile, offering a wide selection of books
  • Hands-on activities with The Trustees’ Mobile Adventure Van

Following the celebration, a guided wildlife nature walk hosted by The Trustees along the Quequechan River Rail Trail will take place offering a chance to explore local habitats and learn more about the area’s natural beauty.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of Lewis Tree Service and the Davey Resource Group.

Also, a Spring Into Action City-wide Clean-up will take place on Saturday, May 2nd from 9:00 a.m. – noon. Meeting at City Hall Plaza.

All tools and equipment will be provided. Plus, the city will offer a free lunch to those who register!
