Fall River, MA – A Fall River resident and business owner is launching his campaign Monday for political office.

Christopher Silvia is vying to be Mayor of Fall River beginning with an afternoon rally in the Flint neighborhood.

Silvia’s campaign slogan is “Because You Matter.” Silvia states that it’s a promise to bring leadership that listens, leadership that’s visible, and leadership that works for every resident—not just a chosen few.

“We are investing millions into our waterfront, but if you walk down the street, you still see homelessness, open drug use, and crime. That’s not a city that’s working for its people,” Silvia said. “We can do better. And we must.”

Silvia highlights his experience creating jobs, managing budgets, and giving back through hands-on community involvement.

“While others are coasting toward retirement, I’m stepping up to build a stronger, safer, more affordable Fall River—because I plan to be here for the long haul. My business is here. My heart is here. And I’m not going anywhere.”

Silvia states that his priorities include:

  • Tackling cost of living by supporting renters, homeowners, and local small businesses.
  • Creating better housing, not luxury developments that price out working families.
  • Cracking down on crime and expanding support for addiction and mental health services.
  • Building real job pipelines for Fall River residents through vocational training and partnerships.

“Fall River is a city with grit, pride, and promise. Let’s take it back. Let’s make it work—for everyone. Let’s remind City Hall that the people still matter.”
