Christopher’s new restaurant venture to include some of Fall River’s favorites

Christopher’s is continuing their unique restaurant experience at a new location with a little help from their friends.

The former cafeteria at Traveler’s Insurance at 99 South Main Street will soon be transformed into a bit of a food smorgasbord.

Like Christopher’s ever-changing menu, the spot will feature Christopher’s and a rotating list of Fall River favorites with different menus each day.

The opening line up will consist of Mr. Chen, Piri Piri Kitchen, and Nicks Hot Dogs.

Christopher’s is looking to liven up downtown, however, according to a social media post, Christopher and Nate Silvia have no plans to close their current spot.

“I opened the 1816 South Main Street location two years ago and started a mission to bring some life to that corner and the neighborhood. I did that and received more support from the residents and the entire neighborhood than I ever could’ve imagined. I was lucky. I fell in love with that part of the city and often watched in amazement as people from Little Compton, Portsmouth and beyond blended and enjoyed the local residents so much that on any given summer night you could see a mix of all people enjoying the corner and each other. We brought a live violinist to the corner we gathered under the canopy near a hot dog cart, and it was the perfect setting for all kinds of community gatherings. The cafe will stay where it is as long as the neighborhood wants me there. To close it for another location would be a betrayal to the neighborhood that gave me my start.”

Christopher’s is scheduled to be in front of the Fall River Licensing Board Wednesday for a Common Victualler license with an opening expected in the near future.
