Child rushed to New Bedford hospital after collision with motor vehicle and pedestrian

A child was injured after an incident with a vehicle.

According to the fire department, on Monday evening, just before 7:00 p.m., the Lakeville Fire Department responded to the area of 80 Precinct Street for a reported collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

Lakeville Ambulance 2 and Squad 3 arrived on scene and located a child who had sustained injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Emergency personnel initiated care immediately and transported the patient to St. Luke’s Hospital with a family member for further evaluation and treatment.

While crews were committed to the Precinct Street incident, a second medical emergency occurred at 12 Main Street. A department recall was initiated to provide supplemental staffing and ensure continued emergency coverage for the town.
