Child hit by hit-and-run vehicle carrying gunshot victim in Fall River

Fall River Police are investigating after a child was hit by a vehicle that contained a gunshot victim.

According to scanner transmissions, at just before 7:45 p.m. a child was struck by a vehicle in the area of Choate Street. The child was alert and didn’t appear to be seriously injured.

The child was transported to a local hospital.

WJAR10 is reporting that the driver, whose vehicle hit the child, fled the scene to transport a gunshot victim to the hospital.

The gunshot victim appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries and no other details on the shooting were released.
