Charges issued after man collapses and dies after altercation in Fall River
Charges have been issued after an incident in Fall River on Friday.
At approximately 1:00 p.m., Fall River Major Crimes Division and CPAC responded and began investigating the death of a male victim in the area of Fourth Street and Wade Street.
According to Captain Jay Huard, the victim was involved in an altercation with Pastor Astacio.
Astacio was armed with a knife, but claimed that during an earlier altercation, the victim had a knife. The victim then walked away from the incident and collapsed near his vehicle on Wade Street, south of Fourth Street.
There had been chatter in the city yesterday afternoon that a man had been stabbed and murdered, but no stabbing occurred, according to Huard, and the victim was not murdered.
Astacio will be summoned into court for charges related to the incident with the knife.
