Charges expected after group of students shoved teen’s head in toilet at Massachusetts school
An altercation at a Massachusetts high school this week could lead to charges.
According to the Boston Globe, Wilmington Police Chief Joseph Desmond stated that a video was circulating on social media where a group of students at Wilmington High School picked up another student and shoved his head in a toilet at one of the bathroom stalls.
Students recorded the incident and could be heard laughing as it was taking place.
A similar incident took place at a Fall River school where a student appeared to be sucker punched while other students laughed and recorded the incident which appeared to be premeditated.
In the Wilmington incident, three students have been suspended for 10 days and police are expecting to file charges.
Wilmington High School Student Class Officers released a statement concerning the incident letting the public know of their displeasure and that it should not define the student body as a whole.
“If a picture is worth a thousand words then a video is worth a million, yet many of us were left speechless by the thoughtless actions of others that transpired earlier this week in one of our school bathrooms.
“These horrific actions perpetrated by an embarrassing group of individuals do not represent who we are as a student body. We are honor roll students, college bound-career focused seniors, varsity athletes, robotic champions and so much more. Our image should not be clouded by these individuals.
“Students, teachers, advisors and parents all need to take a stand, and as class officers, we are committed to advocating for the values that we hold in high regard at Wilmington High School.”
According to NBC Boston, other incidents have occurred at the school prior to this one and the district is expected to hold workshops to help address the problem.

I can only hope that they are punished for their crime. They actually should be arrested. I get sick to my stomach hearing about brutality in schools.

They are going to hold workshops and who will have to go to those workshops….the faculty. It is time for the courts to hold students and parents accountable for the behavior. Sentence them to the workshops.

The parents shouldn’t be held accountable but the high school kids should be arrested, along with a restraining order being put in place. And if the bullies have to go to different schools, so be it. They should also be put on probation so they are no longer allowed to associate with one another without repercussions. If this kid being tormented starts skipping school or starts dabbling in drugs, should he/she really get in trouble for that?
