Cape Cod man pleads not guilty, released on personal recognizance, after multi-vehicle crash with injuries
A Cape Cod man pled not guilty at his arraignment on Tuesday after being charged in a collision.
According to police, at shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Yarmouth Police responded to a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 6A and Willow Street.
When officers arrived, they found a GMC Sierra pickup truck and Jeep Wrangler, both with heavy front-end damage and airbag deployment in the roadway.
The pickup truck was pulling into traffic on Route 6A from Willow Street and crossed over the center lines into the opposite travel lane, striking the Jeep head-on.
The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
As officers continued to investigate the crash, they observed signs of intoxication in the driver of the pickup truck. Further investigation led to the arrest of Daniel Doto, 40, of Yarmouth Port.
Doto was arraigned Tuesday in Barnstable District Court on charges of Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Marked Lanes Violation.
He was released on personal recognizance with a pretrial hearing scheduled for February.
