Cape Cod man in critical condition after pedestrian highway crash outside Dunkin’ location
A Cape Cod man is fighting for his life after a pedestrian collision.
According to police, on Tuesday, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Falmouth Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 614 Main Street (Dunkin’ Donuts).
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 29-year-old unconscious male from Falmouth, on the sidewalk. Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department responded and transported the victim to an Off-Cape trauma center, where he is currently in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident.
The operator of the vehicle involved remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The Cape Cod Law Enforcement Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Falmouth Police Department in this ongoing investigation.
Initial findings indicate that the man entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicle.
