A Bristol County police officer is being highlighted for her good deed.

Chief of Police Christopher Baker has recognized Officer Samantha Maguire for her recent act of kindness towards a family in need within the community.

Officer Maguire responded to a call from a resident who was experiencing a medical emergency, only to discover that both heads of the family were battling serious illnesses.

Moved by their story, Officer Maguire took it upon herself to share their situation with her fellow officers at the police department.

Through personal donations and the support of the Berkley Patrolman’s Association, they were able to put together a holiday package to help the family through the Thanksgiving season.

Chief Baker expressed his appreciation of Officer Maguire.

“It is acts like these that truly exemplify the dedication and compassion of the officers working in our police department. I am proud to have Officer Maguire as a member of our team, and I am grateful for her willingness to go above and beyond in serving our community.”

“As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to encourage all residents of Berkley to take a moment each day to help one another with random acts of kindness. Together, we can make a positive impact on those around us and create a stronger, more caring community. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving.”
