Brockton man arrested in fatal hit and run of 72-year-old
The Brockton Police asked for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a fatal hit and run near 259 Pleasant Street at approximately 6:16 p.m. on Tuesday that killed 72-year-old Marie Rose Bienaime of Brockton.
The public delivered.
Brockton Police Detectives and State Police Detectives apprehended 33-year-old Michael Blanche this morning. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges this afternoon.
Blanche will appear in court on Friday.
A judge will formally charge him with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Causing Death, Negligent Motor Vehicle Homicide, Speeding, Failure to Yield, and Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension.
Brockton Police noted how the community and police can work together to earn a positive result.
“Today’s arrest is an excellent example of how good things can happen when Brockton Cops and the Brockton Community come together. For the second time in four months, we’ve called on the public to help us find a hit and run driver. In both instances, your tips have led to an arrest.
On behalf of the Brockton Police Department and the victim’s families, thank you very much.”
