Brockton firefighter suffers line of duty death, leaves behind wife and 2 children

A Massachusetts firefighter has made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Brockton Fire Department has announced the line of duty death of Firefighter Jeffrey Albanese.

Albanese was appointed on September 11, 2000, and served the city working on Squad A, Ladder Company 1 and most recently served as the Senior man of Engine Company 4.

Albanese suffered a cardiac arrest on December 9, 2024, while responding to an incident. Firefighter Albanese was resuscitated by his brother Firefighters, Brewster EMS and the medical staff at Signature Brockton Hospital. Albanese was transferred to Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston.

Albanese sadly succumbed to his injuries just after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night December 21, 2024.

The 24-year veteran was a Union Director representing Engine Company 4. He was also a member of the Honor Guard.

He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Services have not yet been announced.
