Brockton delivery man facing disturbing charges concerning East Bridgewater woman in wheelchair

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins reports that the East Bridgewater Police Department has arrested a Brockton man, charging him with multiple assault and battery charges on an elderly or disabled person.

On Wednesday, at just after 11:30 a.m., East Bridgewater Detective Cecilia Cacciatore responded to a home to take report of a sexual assault incident. The report alleged that a woman had been assaulted by a male party who was delivering medicine to her home.

Through an investigation, it was determined that on Sunday, a male working for a pharmaceutical delivery service was delivering medicine to the woman, who had severe mobility issues and was using a wheelchair, when the male entered the home without consent and repeatedly touched the woman inappropriately.

In a preliminary investigation, Detective Cacciatore was able to identify the suspect as 39-year-old Qaisar Ali of Brockton and was also able to identify his vehicle as a white Toyota Camry. 

Detective Cacciatore obtained an arrest warrant for Ali. On Wednesday, East Bridgewater Police identified Ali‘s vehicle and initiated a motor vehicle stop.

He was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on an Elderly or Disabled Person (three counts), Indecent Assault and Battery on an Elderly or Disabled Person (two counts), Indecent Exposure, Breaking and Entering in the Daytime, and Assault with Intent to Commit Rape.

Ali is being held on $10,000 bail and will be arraigned in Brockton District Court this morning. 

“I would like to commend the strong work of Detective Cacciatore and the East Bridgewater Police Department,” said Chief Jenkins. “In this case, we were able to identify the suspect and their vehicle and make an arrest within the same day as our initial response.”

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
