Bristol, Portsmouth, Tiverton, DEM, Fall River, Somerset, North Kingstown crews respond after confirmed bridge jumper

Crews from across the area responded Saturday evening after a person jumped from a local bridge.

According to scanner transmissions, at approximately 9:15 p.m. a call came into dispatch for a confirmed jumper from the Mount Hope Bridge with the individual in the water.

Bristol Fire Chief Micheal DeMello told Fall River Reporter that Portsmouth Fire made the recovery.

DeMello thanked the marine units that assisted including Bristol, Portsmouth, Tiverton, DEM, Fall River, Somerset, and North Kingstown.

Portsmouth and Bristol Police and EMS also responded to the scene.
