Bristol Plymouth Regional evacuated for suspicious package, one arrested
On May 15th at 11:42 a.m., the Taunton Police Department responded to Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School for a report of a suspicious package.
On May 15th at 11:42 a.m., the Taunton Police Department responded to Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School for a report of a suspicious package.
It was reported that school administrators were implementing evacuation procedures to ensure the safety of all students.
A suspicious package was located in the cafeteria and isolated. The package was subsequently inspected by the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Unit and determined not to be a threat to the school.
Once the school was determined to be safe, administration allowed students to return to the school to retrieve belongings prior to dismissal.
As a result of the incident, one student was taken into custody and charged with:
MGL 269 s. 14 Communicating a Threat Causing Evacuation of a School.
