Bristol County restaurant known for over 170 pizza options closes permanently after death of owner
A Bristol County pizza spot is closing permanently after the recent death of the heart and soul of the business.
Dough Licious Pizza is a family-owned and operated pizzeria since 2014 located at 539 Berkley Street in Berkley, emphasizing fresh ingredients and over 170 pizza options.
On Sunday morning in a social media post, it was announced that owner and operator William Russell has died.
“We wanted to share some difficult news with everyone.
Many of you knew my father and owner of Dough Licious,William Russell, and were aware that he had been dealing with ongoing medical issues. Unfortunately, he passed away yesterday morning. As a result, Dough Licious Pizza will be closed permanently, effective immediately.
This restaurant was his dream. He truly loved serving the community, getting to know customers, and finding new creative ways to make his pizzas. We can’t say enough about how much it meant to him to build something where people could come together over good food. He was incredibly grateful for the support from all of you and from the staff who stood beside him over the years.
Right now, our family is asking for privacy as we navigate the next steps.
Bill was a man of deep honor and very clear wishes. One of those wishes was that he did not want a public service, funeral, or formal obituary. While we know that may feel unusual to some, it’s important to us that we respect exactly what he wanted.
Still, we couldn’t let this moment pass without acknowledging the love he felt from running this business…the love he had for his family, his staff, and the many people he connected with through Dough Licious.”
Services have not yet been announced.
