A 25-year-old Attleboro man was sentenced to state prison last week after pleading guilty to pointing a loaded firearm at a man outside of a convenience store and multiple illegal firearm charges, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn announced.

Jeffrey Sek pleaded guilty to indictments charging him with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, two counts of Carrying an Illegal Firearm-Subsequent Offense, and one count each of carrying a loaded illegal firearm, possession of a large capacity magazine and unlawful possession of ammunition. He was sentenced to serve five to seven years.

On March 17, 2023, drove to the Emory Street Convenience store in Attleboro, got out of his vehicle and then pulled his gun and aimed it at another man who had made comments to his girlfriend, according to The Sun Chronicle. Sek held the gun out in front of him, pulled back the hammer and then told the victim to run. Sek then drove by the victim’s home before parking his car just down the street.

When police arrived, they found two 40 caliber Glock pistols under the driver’s seat.  Sek had previously been convicted of illegal firearm charges out of Attleboro District Court in 2018.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Shawn Guilderson.

In addition to the state prison sentence, Judge Raffi Yessayan also placed Sek on an additional two years of probation.

“The defendant is found in possession of firearms just after threatening another man with a gun. He has a prior gun conviction, and clearly is a danger to the community and needs to be kept off the streets to protect the public,” District Attorney Quinn said.
