Bristol County man faces drug and gun charges in Fall River Superior Court after Mansfield, Raynham, Seekonk, DEA Worcester investigation

A Bristol County man faced a judge in Fall River Superior Court following a lengthy and through multi-agency local and federal investigation, Mansfield Police arrested a local resident on Tuesday after executing a search warrant and seizing firearms, cash and cocaine.

On May 26th, after securing a warrant, Mansfield Police Detectives and members of the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force searched a suspect, his apartment and rental car on Oakland Street. During the search, Detectives seized 63 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, $48,961 in cash, two handguns and three high-capacity magazines.

26-year-old Jonathan Mejia, of Mansfield was arrested and charged with the following:

Cocaine Trafficking
Possession of a Large-Capacity Firearm (3 Counts)
Possession of a Firearm While Committing (or Attempting to Commit) a Felony (Cocaine Trafficking)
Improper Storage of a Large-Capacity Firearm

Court records show that Mejia pled not guilty at arraignment in Attleboro District Court and was issued $100,000 bond/$10,000 cash bail.

On Wednesday in Fall River Superior Court, Mejia pled not guilty and had his bail transferred from District Court.

He has a pre-trial conference scheduled for September 16th.

The investigation was led by the Mansfield Police Detective Division, with the assistance of Detectives from the Raynham and Seekonk police departments, and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration office in Worcester.
