Bristol County District Attorney’s Office releases name of 51-year-old man found deceased

District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn, III has announced that on Friday, Taunton police received a 911 call at approximately 3:45 p.m. that a body had been located by walkers in the Mill River behind 43 Chandler Avenue in Taunton. 

Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Taunton Detectives responded to the scene. 

51-year-old Samuel Stovall of Taunton was located in the water with obvious signs of decomposition. 

Stovall was known to Taunton police in the area as someone who was homeless. 

This death is not deemed suspicious but remains open pending further investigation.
