The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office has issued an update on a weekend motorcycle crash.

According to Jennifer Sowa of the DA’s Office, on Saturday, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on Route 195 West in Swansea in the area of Exit 8.

Troopers arrived on scene and located three motorcycle operators on the roadway who had suffered significant injuries.  The injured parties: a 36-year-old male, a 53-year-old male and a 38-year-old female, were transported to an area hospital for treatment.  All three parties remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Scanner transmissions reported loss of limbs, however, that was not confirmed or denied by authorities.

A witness stated at least two of the motorcycles were found in pieces.

This matter is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.  The investigation is active and ongoing. Sowa stated that no further information on the facts of the investigation can be disseminated at this time.
