Bristol County District Attorney states remains found on property where missing pregnant teen was last seen, boyfriend to be charged with murder
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced the arrest of 22-year-old Gregory Groom of Rehoboth and remains have been found on his property consistent with missing pregnant teen Kylee Monteiro, however, testing will be done by the medical examiner to confirm.
The defendant has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery on a Pregnant Person, Domestic Assault and Battery and Intimidation of a Witness for acts committed against 18-year-old Kylee Monteiro on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 107 County Street in Rehoboth.
Quinn stated Tuesday night that Groom, who was Monteiro’s boyfriend, will also be charged with murder.
The defendant is currently held without bail and will be arraigned tomorrow morning in the Taunton District Court.
Monteiro, an 18-year-old woman from Rehoboth, had been missing since Thursday, August 7th.
A candlelight vigil will take place on Saturday August 23rd at 7 Pond Street/ 401 Winthrop Street in Rehoboth. There will be candles and both family and friends will be able to speak about Kylee.
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created by Kylee’s family for funeral arrangements.
