Bristol County District Attorney releases name of deceased fatally injured while working at Westport business

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced a work fatality that occurred yesterday at Mid City Scrap, located at 548 State Road in Westport, MA. 

At approximately 11:10 a.m., Westport EMS responded to a medical call at Mid City Scrap. 

Upon arrival, first responders located 49-year-old Mark Peters of Taunton, MA with a crushing injury to his lower extremities. 

Peters was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. 

Westport Police, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and an OSHA Safety and Health Officer all responded to the scene. 

The investigation is ongoing but does not appear to be suspicious.
