Bristol County District Attorney identifies 26-year-old woman killed in crash that also injured 23-year-old woman

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced a motor vehicle fatality that took place on Friday. 

Taunton Police and EMS were dispatched to the area of 266 County Street after receiving 911 calls at approximately 11:15 p.m. regarding a single motor vehicle crash. 

Upon arrival, police located a 2001 Honda Accord with heavy driver’s side damage.  The vehicle had a final resting position against a telephone pole.  The vehicle was occupied by two adult females.  The driver was located with life threatening injuries.  She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Selina Mendez of Taunton.  The passenger, a 23-year-old female, was transported for minor injuries.

The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Taunton Police.
