Bristol County District Attorney confirms death of 10th victim from Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility fire in Fall River
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the passing of the tenth victim from the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility fire on Sunday, 7/13/25, at 261 Oliver Street in Fall River.
The decedent, identified as 66-year-old Brenda Cropper, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Sunday’s fire. Cropper was pronounced deceased at 4:43 p.m. on Friday.
This officially brings the total number of fatalities from this devastating blaze to ten.
Due to a miscommunication between the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and a medical agency, this information was misreported on Thursday.
According to her daughter, Cropper lived on the first floor in the back of the property.
“She was always goofy. Always smiling. Always laughing. She liked to help others. She was always kind although she suffered with MS and other health issues, she always managed to keep a good attitude.”
The investigation into the origin and cause continues by the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Section assigned to the State Fire Marshall’s Office, the Fall River Fire and Police Departments, in conjunction with State Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
