Bristol County District Attorney announces investigation after death of 8-month-old infant in Taunton

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced an investigation related to the death of an 8-month-old infant over the weekend. 

Taunton Police received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive infant at 1472 Somerset Avenue at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Friday, 4/24/26. 

Upon arrival Taunton Police and EMS located an unresponsive 8-month-old male infant that was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The infant was then med flighted to a Boston hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:20 am on Saturday, 4/25/26.   Cause and manner of death is pending from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The matter is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Taunton Police.
