Bristol County District Attorney announces identity of victim in fatal four-alarm blaze
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the identity of the victim from the fatal Easton fire on Thursday.
At just after 9:15 p.m. , Easton first responders were called to a four-alarm blaze at a single- family home located at 44 North Main Street. Once the fire was brought under control, first responders located a single individual in the first-floor bedroom who was pronounced deceased on scene. That individual has been officially identified by the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as 74-year-old Sharon Cerullo, who was the sole resident of the home.
According to the Easton Fire Department, Regional 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a medical alert company reporting a medical alert pendant activation. When firefighters arrived for the medical emergency, they were met with a wall of fire that would be become the four-alarm house fire.
The investigation into the cause and manner of the fire is ongoing by the Easton Fire Department, Easton Police Department, State Police fire investigators assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
