Bristol County District Attorney announces identity of eighth fatal victim in Fall River fire

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the identity of an eighth fatal victim from Sunday evening’s devastating fire at the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility located at 261 Oliver Street in Fall River. 

77-year-old Joseph Wilansky is the 8th person who perished in Sunday night’s fire.  The identity of the ninth decedent, a 70-year-old female, is not being publicly released as next of kin notification is pending.  One other resident, a 66-year-old female, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The other 7 victims are 64-year-old Rui Albernaz, 61-year-old Ronald Codega, 69-year-old Margaret Duddy, 78-year-old Robert King, 71-year-old Kim Mackin, 78-year-old Richard Rochon, and 86-year-old Eleanor Willett.

The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Section assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Fall River Fire and Police Departments, in conjunction with State Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
