Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the passing of a tenth victim from the Gabriel House Assisted Living Facility fire on Sunday, 7/13/25, at 261 Oliver Street in Fall River.

The decedent, identified as 66-year-old Brenda Cropper, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Sunday’s fire.  Cropper succumbed to her injuries later in the day Wednesday.

According to her daughter, Cropper lived on the first floor in the back of the property.

“She was always goofy. Always smiling. Always laughing. She liked to help others. She was always kind although she suffered with MS and other health issues, she always managed to keep a good attitude.”

This brings the total number of fatalities from this devastating blaze to ten.

The investigation into the origin and cause continues by the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Section assigned to the State Fire Marshall’s Office, the Fall River Fire and Police Departments, in conjunction with State Troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
