Bristol County DA releases name of Fall River man killed in Westport motorcycle crash
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced that a fatal motorcycle crash occurred last night in Westport.
Westport Police received a 911 call at 11:38 p.m. reporting a single motorcycle crash in the area of 178 Main Road in Westport.
Upon arrival, Westport Police and EMS located a Harley Davidson motorcycle off the roadway with significant damage. Approximately 50 feet from the motorcycle, police and first responders located the operator, 29-year-old John Soares, IV, of Fall River with life threatening injuries. Soares was pronounced deceased on scene.
Police located debris from the motorcycle scattered in the roadway and into the property of 178 Main Road. A telephone pole and stone wall in the area of 178 Main Road appeared to be impacted from the crash.
According to scanner transmissions, responders found Soares not breathing and was performing CPR.
This matter is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office along with the Westport Police Department.
