Bristol County DA identifies 43-year-old Bristol County man killed in highway collision

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the identity of a driver killed in a motor vehicle crash involving two tractor trailers onI-95 North near mile marker 3.2 in Attleboro early Wednesday morning. 

Massachusetts State Police along with Attleboro Police were dispatched to the motor vehicle crash prior to 6:00 a.m. 

Upon arrival, police located a blue Honda Civic that had crashed into a tractor trailer.  At the crash scene in the breakdown lane police noted a white semi-trailer with no semi tractor attached along with a red Volvo tractor that had a semi-trailer attached. 

A single occupant/operator was located in the blue Honda Civic with life threatening injuries.  That operator was identified as 43-year-old Chad Askew of Mansfield, MA.  CPR was performed on Askew at the scene, but he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. 

No operators or attendants of the tractor trailers were on scene when police arrived. 

The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police CARS Unit, Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section and the Attleboro Police Department.
