Bristol County DA announces 46-year-old Fall River man convicted after sexually assaulting his three daughters
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the conviction of a 46-year-old Fall River man after a jury trial in the New Bedford Superior Court.
On Thursday, the jury convicted Daniel Arruda, aka Danny Arruda, of three counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child under the Age of 14, three counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child over the age of 14 and Aggravated Rape of a Child (five-year age difference).
Arruda is in custody and will be sentenced on September 5, 2025, in the Fall River Superior Court by the Honorable Rene Dupuis. The case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Karen O’Sullivan and Assistant District Attorney Victoria Bendza.
Arruda was convicted of sexually assaulting his three daughters in Fall River on various dates between 2013 and 2021 when the children were between the ages of 12 and 16. Arruda committed the sexual assaults and rape during child visitations as the children did not live with him after he and the children’s mother previously divorced. In May of 2021, the youngest victim disclosed about the abuse she had endured which led to charges issuing against the Arruda for all three victims.
“I am very pleased that the jury held the defendant accountable for molesting his three daughters. This repulsive behavior was a betrayal of trust against his own flesh and blood,” District Attorney Tom Quinn said.
