FALL RIVER, Mass. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston arrested a Brazilian national Dec. 31 wanted for murder in his home country.

The man, whose name ICE is withholding due to privacy issues, entered the United States in New York in March 2024 and violated the terms of his admission by failing to depart.

“This Brazilian national has been accused of murder in Brazil,” said ERO Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde. “ERO Boston will not allow Fall River or any other Massachusetts community to become a safe haven for international fugitives, and we are committed to tracking down accused criminals who put our residents at risk.”

Officials in Minas Gerais, Brazil, issued an arrest warrant against the Brazilian national in June 2024.

ERO Boston officers arrested him near his residence Dec. 31. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
